Steph to Cass: "...I need to give my boyfriend a lot of crap for not being honest to people."
Batman and team find themselves in the crosshairs as the villain they've begun hunting turns the tables on them. Batman and Batwoman have the skills to survive, but do their young teammates? Is this where hero training ends in tragedy?
THEY SAID IT: "The ideas are boiling inside my brain," boasts artist Eddy Barrows. "James and I intend to elevate Batman to a whole new level, with amazing and exciting stories and artwork. To sum it up in one sentence—it's going to be epic!"
Summary of Stephness: Steph, Clayface, Tim, and Cass are training using Tim's "Mud Room," which uses Clayface's powers to create a physicial simulation. Batwoman has been running the simulation for three hours, but Tim calls an override halt to the session. Batwoman gives them feedback - Steph's main problem is that she has skill, but not enough stamina. Cass tends to save her by trying to fight everyone at once. Batwoman says she won't put them in the field until Batman says they're ready, but Steph calls BS, saying they've been superheros for a while now.
Later, Tim comes to Steph's apartment after a meeting with Bruce. Steph knows he hasn't told Batman about his acceptance into Ivy University's Genius Grant program. She scolds him, but their conversation is interrupted by Cass, who pokes her head in the window. Steph asks if she and Tim could have the apartment to themselves for the night, and Cass smiles and heads off. Tim and Steph discuss Cass's situation, but Steph firmly steers the conversation back to Tim's future. She makes her point, they flirt a bit, and the two begin to make out, with a fade to black on their discarded uniforms on the floor.
Also, Steph tells Cass that Tim is her boyfriend.
